"Jack, you're getting the candy stuck in your hair!"
Maddy laughed, trying to pick sugary clumps out of his dark locks. The boy just made a satisfied grunt, pulled another mouthful of candy off of the flimsy stick and shoved it into his mouth.
"Good!" Jack said, "I can save it fa' later!"
I didn't think i'd get this finished tonight, but i did and i'm really glad. I've been a bit obsessed with Jack and Maddy art lately, but it's all good fun. I really enjoy drawing them and their relationship as children and after re-reading the scene where she looks at the photograph i thought it would be fun to elaborate on the carnival scene a bit:
so i came up with this
What happens when you give little kids pennies at a faire? They run off, buy cotten candy and find a nice, quiet place to eat it however they want, apparantly! (after defacing a wooden horses flank to boot, tut tut...)
